Thanks guys.
I've got the installers coming back next week, in the meantime I've switched off charging from the grid to prevent it alarming at night, and wonder if I should limit charging the batteries during the day as we are generating a lot from the panels at the moment.

I would expect the Installer to bring :-
- A Console cable
- A laptop computer with Pylontech BatteryView program loaded.

Method : using BatteryView . . .
- A good look around at the detailed battery information.
- A download of the "Events Log" of each battery . . . which may require the Console cable to be moved to each battery in turn.

Then probably . . .
Raise a Support Query with Pylontech Support UK . . . attaching the Event Logs.
( I suspect that you may need these experts to evaluate the situation. )

I hope this helps . . . and doesn't mislead.
Good Luck

Morning chaps, long time no see, John W did you ever find out what was going on with your Solis, and or get a fix in place?
Ours is still throwing up high BMS voltage messages a couple of times a day, but no other bad things in evidence. I am not sure if I should be worried or not TBH

Thoughts on this anyone??

I have tried googling with not much satisfaction to be frank, I have tried to contact Pylon, no reply as yet after several weeks, I fear no one will be interested in a DIY system, who knows? We are having an enforced life re-appraisal and I really want to get a feel for the potential risks of this issue. The last thing I want is to leave Mrs Desp to cope with a liability, I'd sooner chuck it all in the skip TBH

Thanks

Hi Desp sorry to hear you are still having problems with your system. I used to have a routine problem with my inverter which would trip out on voltage and current related issues often with burnt out fuse links.

I recently stripped down the fuse link breaker and found that a piece of plastic had snapped off and was stopping one of the fused links from seating properly in its contacts, the result being heat and deformation of the contacts.

I removed the plastic cleaned up the contacts and checked the torque settings and it’s all been good since then.

Is it possible that you have a loose connection somewhere? Do you have or can you borrow an infrared camera to look for hot spots ?

Perhaps a firmware update on the Solis would resolve it? If you have a dongle, you can raise a request by calling the number on this page:
https://www.solisinverters.com/uk/service.html

Hopefully that would improve things for you, Desp.
