Will probably chuck some granite blocks on the supports shortly to weigh it down. My next one will be a scaffolding frame as it is heavier from the start and you can fill the inside channels with cement as well.
3kW FIT Solar
0.8kW balcony solar.
6kw Panasonic air to air heat pump for downstairs.
2 WBS. Stovax 8kw and 5kw Morso squirrel
Rointe D series in 2 bedrooms and bathroom.
Aiming to go fully electric...

I make mine out of unistrut Channel and anchor the Chanel inside 300x500x800mm gabions filled with slate. I live in a very exposed Westerly coastal position at approx 300m above sea level so from experience I like to have mounts that could stop a challenger 2 in its tracks!

I had to Google Gabions.
Big cage filled with rocks.

The angle and reposition has made a decent uplift in production. >25%.
Interestingly the production curve now falls off a cliff when it goes past a certain point in the day.

This seems to be as good a place as any to ask. I've just connected my Hoymiles 2000-4T to the AC grid supply, no panels connected yet, still waiting for fixings and brackets. Went to download the S-miles app, and have just discovered I need an installer account to get into it.

So, how do we set these things up in the UK? Any tips in order to get into the units settings and ideally get the PV data once the panels are connected? Thanks.

I registered while in Italy so qualified for the installer account. For other systems I fitted i used a ketotek meter from amazon. Shows V, A, spot Watts and a running total of kWh.

Actually, it seems the 2000 unit doesnt have the wifi/DTU integrated, so even if I had an account, logging into the app wouldn't get me very far.

I've got a Shelly 16A power monitoring PM mini gen3 unit spare so I'll wire that into the AC feed and measure that way. Would've been nice the see what each of the 4 panels that will be connected are producing individually though as they'll be in 3 different orientations.

I've left my Turkish system to just run. No counter on it at all.

Huge kabbatic (?) Style winds coming down off the mountains as they cool this evening. Walked into apartment after dinner and the 2 A2A's have the whole place at a beautiful 21degs.

We had a decent bit of solar into the batteries today on the 5V systems (running radio, Internet, mobile phones).

I'll look at meter tomorrow and 24hrs thereafter. We'll see what it costs in kWh to run 2A2A's & HWT etc in a two bedroom apartment with a couple of 100W solar panels attached. The place is completely uninsulated apart from the natural r value of the basic build materials.

I may airfry a full dressed chicken. :xl:
