Congratulations Nowty, it’s another brilliant day forecast for tomorrow too so I’m expecting you to hit the Dalmatian pb record tomorrow :praise:

Picked up my storage heater tonight so you can put me down for 24kW of thermal on the stats.

similar start to the day here, while walking the puppy (now larger than the Labradors and weighing 34kg ) I stopped to use the Merlin App that Ivan mentioned and within seconds I had logged chaffinch, jack daws, wrens, robin, chiffchaff, carrion crow, magpie, starlings, collard doves etc etc Its a great app and a fabulous day - ruined by the fact that I will be in a teams meeting for 7 hours of it

LOL I wish, dogs and 3 year old in garden and nesting sparrow chicks calling for food plus we have the waller in rebuilding all the drystone walls around the cottage so constant background noise out there so I'm in the coldest corner of the cottage with my hoody on !

Andy the waller is doing a fab job, we think that the wall was last extended in the 50's when its height was raised but the bottom section according to him is circa 1860 - same as the first phase of the cottage. Found some nice glass items buried in the core of the wall here and there but sadly no marble stopper bottles - he has found quite a few of those over the years apparently.

I managed to nip out and pop the pool heater in the pool earlier to warm it up ready for the kids after school - its a bit decadent but its one of their luxuries that I wont skimp on.

Back in production (hopefully)

While we were out shopping the Solar Store called to ask if OK they came out to install the replacement inverter. Our grandson told the sure. So we got home as they were [putting it in. Not even a rebuilt one of the model that died under warranty but their newest. Too soon yet to know if all of its features working as the distance it is close to the limit for our LAN. The solar store will check if they can "see it" and if so will give me info on the app I can install to monitor from the house.

But it IS generating again (just 2 KW but it was after 4 PM with some overcast). Hopefully will see the cumulative KWh meter change so I'll have a changed figure to report (the monthly reporting window currently open)

Good news, great warranty support. What is peak for you Mike? Can do a lot with 2kW when set up correctly for it's efficient use.

System rated 6.8 KW That would be around noon in the summer (when aligned perpendicular to the suns rays)/ But peak power is not a useful measure of solar power. Energy over the day is taking into account alignment, shading, etc. This is a "grid tied" system so my "battery" for storage is essentially infinite. Energy over the month tends to even out for day to day weather (corresponding months reasonably similar year to year, especially summer and fall - winter and even spring can vary between snowy years and "open" years)

My annual production very constant, within 100 KWh or so of 8 M WHh.

8MWh pa from a 6.8kWp array is not too bad at all!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger
