DNO got back to me today. The system was never registered by the Installation Co!

I've filled in a G98 self assessment/declaration/retroactive type form and sent it back to them along with my HIES & MCS certs. If that is accepted ok the system will be registered and they'll send me a mail to forward to Octopus. 8-)

A new milestone, confirmed awareness from DNO of our system. That mail.(thanks Nowty) has now been sent to Octopus. Also adding SWMBO's name to the Octopus account as the FIT is in her name. That should be all hurdles cleared. Just waiting for confirmation from the big O. Would like to do a bit of powershifting while in Turkey. Fingers 🤞.

AC/DC were excellent last night as was my leg about.that there London today. :D

Well, I've done all I can to facilitate the smooth transition from BG FIT deemed export to Octopus outgoing fixed. Up to and including a photo sent in yesterday of my smart meter export reading of 1001kWh total.

The original blurb did say 6 weeks to process so it's on track.

Application went in on 1st July

Not a fan of this waiting though. :D

I don't know what that is but I can surmise! No, I'm not becoming an APG. :xx:

Its a feeling holdover from 5 months to arrange for a smart meter at No1's house. I'm sure it will be fine, I've actually been impressed by both DNO assistance and Octopus pointing out the SWMBO is FIT holder while account is in my name, (although they didn't name her for privacy). I was reflecting on what an idea it is, all these Micro gen plants nationwide, nodal if demand and siting follows countrywide population density. Clever stuff indeed!

Just kidding, I think it’s the yoof of today who want everything straight away.

I’ve been dealing with my DNO at work for 3 years to get a transformer moved , they are pretty useless.

I’m also dealing with my DNO at home as when they fitted my smart meter last year, they removed the double pole isolator that allowed you to work safely after the metering equipment!

I want to remove my old generator changeover switch and tidy things up

No worries! :D It can all be a bit hit & miss when engaging with these companies. I'd like to have been playing about with export settings when over in Turkey which is next week but I'm aiming/resigned to it being the Oct visit..

That will be a nice first for us here to see some KH credit :D plus I need some physical evidence for the mother in law so that I can convince her to put her heating on a bit more as it wont cost her anything extra. Shes good with the batteries and panels and watches the load rise before doing her washing drying and ironing but she wont take the next step and pop the heater on when she's feeling the cold.

Woke up around 2 am this morning to extremely windy Easterlies and as this is an unusual direction for us I had to pop out and just check a few things including some propped PV were going to be ok. The wind has swung round to a WSW direction again now so it must have been the low passing overhead at 2am. Not as wet as previously forecast and a brighter overcast than expected but still unseasonably :freezing:
