... there should be only one battery bank needed, one PV array and 4 Off-grid/hybrid inverters , or one big only ( then i assume there is an easy way to meter each apartments usage but i guess that is installed already )
What are your thoughts on cheaper "Economy 7" rates , will they stay for granted the next years ?
So PV is anyway the saver , my bet

Heavy Duty Set-Up or 4 Smaller Set-Ups ?
Re: Heavy Duty Set-Up or 4 Smaller Set-Ups ?
.... A 100 kWh quality lead acid Battery costs about 6500 GBP Weight is about 2.3 Ton volume about 750 l
A 16 kW PV should not cost more than 16000 GBP (installed ? , not sure about UK prices )
A Victron Quattro 48/8000/110 48V 230V costs about 2600 GBP so 2 0r three of those makes a power supply from that battery upto 24 kva
That works like an UPS to allow Grid power in and assist , if , if needed ( sure in winter more often)
And an PV Gti with 2 Trackers for the West-East roof or 4 MPPT charge-controllers for 700 each , but better the GTI as the ad on to the Power capacity of the off grid inverter
