There is nothing stopping you doing that now with an MCS approved install.

Anyhow, has anybody managed to get onto a SEG scheme without the illusive MCS certificate (which seems like a complete jobs for the boys scheme!)
Someone here has managed to persuade his supplier that there is no legal basis for demanding an MCS cert.

NikoV6 wrote: Fri Oct 14, 2022 10:34 amAlternatively, do we know of any friendly MCS approved fitters happy to retro certify. My system was electrically connected by certified electrician mate, so I am content with it from a safety perspective.

There is a company that will do this for a fee, called something like MCS Services. IIRC has been mentioned on this board in the past.
Sorry to drag up this old reply but I am keen to know more about this 'MCS Services' company you mention. I cannot find it being mentioned on this board or after a google.

I have a DIY system that is very accessible and easy to inspect every part of it and would be happy to pay a company for MCS certification.

I cannot remember the exact name. They may have ceased trading. Try googling MCS Inspection Services or MCS Umbrella Services, that throws up quite a few links to possible cos.
