Ideally I would be aiming for 2 strings of 7 panels in series, paralleled.
This appears to be some of the sticking point, one unit does not appear to support the current if paralleled and the other does not appear to support the overall o/c voltage. I don't really want to remove 2 panels to fit the inverter and end up with 12 panels.

I would have to use both MPPT on the sunsynk with 7 panels on each.

The easy solar would require 2 parallel strings or even 3.
your Sunsync looks similar in specs to my Solis S5 which has 17 panels connected across 2 MPPT inputs

I did not choose the sunsynk mainly due to the lower amperage is could cover in off grid mode.

With the multiplus 2 5kv it is double the amps at 50A.

I have been evaluating space today for panels and it needs a rethink.
I can probably do 12 ground mount, 8 on end gable. 4 on other side of house and a couple on top of the rubbish conservatory.

Likely to end up with 8 on end gable and 4 on other side of house or ground mounted in SW orientation.

Currently a couple sitting on the ground going into the Hoymiles HMS 800. This could also become a permanent feature.
