Its not gotten lighter than it was at 9am this morning here and the rain is remorselessly constant, heavy and diagonal in nature and we aren't supposed to be as bad as across the northerly borders so I hope everyone is ok.

JB, Don't forget to bring the yellow glow light back with you when you return from Turkey, it was very pleasant when you did that last time :D

Will do, view from our bedroom. (Sorry).
No1 says its windy but less than yesterday in our part of Aberdeenshire and there's actually some generation at home 33% SOC, up from 25% at start of play.

Stay safe lads.

Now that I've ran up the Enphase powerhouse at home it shows that there is potential for a stealth PV set up out here on the inner wall of the back balcony deck. I shall mull it over across Winter and maybe look see what we can source in the way of 6 busbar small panels out here. Would like to source Turkish built as I know they are made in country just not details. Just a thought...

Meanwhile though, Big Blue powered aircooling. Pack at 57% after a 1/2 day charging. Next battery on to charge moments ago at 4% soc. :D Never a dull moment.

Seen the prices drop a bit recently, maybe clearing out older stock?.

I saw a thing flash up on my Bimble feed too, Canadian Solar 410w £99+vat, tempting, but I'd be more tempted to upgrade my 295w's to something bigger like the 575's, otherwise I would just get itchy feet and wish I'd gone bigger, plus a couple of them would fit quite nicely on my Hoymiles 800.

Given what I've seen with the Perlight 295's the likeihood of them generating much more than 400w ea in the location I've got them would be quite low
PV 1.1kWh
Victron Multiplus 8K II 48v/100A + Victron 150/35 & 250/60 charge controller + lynx 1000
CerboGX, 25kW Pylontech batteries
Octopus Agile - Cheaper Battery Charging
Another 2.3kWh on the horizon - ground mount + 4x575's

Don't put off to tomorrow what you could spend on today! Always worth a look on the 2nd hand market too? The Enphase micros & Sharp.panels are 2nd & 3rd hand respectively so any carbon cost is long gone and far away. I carried that through to the rails too by using secondhand scavenged timbers cut to size. Fixings were the very last of a bag of roofing screws from a previous years old project (the solar pergola in fact).

Not trying to sound virtuous (said the man who flew yesterday) but being an outbuilding solar build freed me up nicely in my mind to go the 'junkshop' repurposing route. I still feel good about that! Just for thought...

I'll be honest, I am missing the walk down garden to check Enphase powerhouse. :ugeek:

So I draw solace from the BigBlue powerhouse & battery combo here!
I have been looking at the s/h panel route, but currently they all seem more expensive than new ones!
New JA solar 410W(same as I have on my roof) are currently £92 inc. VAT at ITS.
People are selling 280-290W S/H ones for about the same price, and no idea how old they are, or if they have degraded at all.
Solar PV since July '22:
5.6kWp east/west facing
3.6kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter
2x 5.12kWh Sunsynk batteries
1.6kWp Hoymiles East/West facing PV on the man cave
Ripple DW 2kW
Ripple WB 200W
