And the Octopus export reading.

But haven't you got more than the hybrid inverter exporting, SolarEdge?

Cheers Ian, kept a closer eye yesterday. Roughly speaking, export was-
30kWhs from stack
20kWhs from Solaredge
5kWhs from Enphase

Total export for the day 55kWh's @ £8.25.
Total import incl HWT charge 28kWh's @ £1.96
A VB charge of £6.29 or 90kWh's bought in Winter to curtail log use in WBS.

I do hope the failed Turkish Enphase is operational at home.

These figures are very close each day, stick on Ripples 65kWh generation for a good day and we are beyond personal expectations by quite a bit.

This turned out to be a consistent week. 50kWh(+£7.50) exported each day and 28kWh (-£2) Imported to stack & HWT overnight. Not sure if it's just my imagination but it seems a lot less chaotic operating under an export scheme? No grid grab seen when the kids are there. Just a lower momentary export. I am liking this new reality very much.

As an aside we've got the apartment sitting at 27 degs with inverter Air con control. Very little to zero noise from the external unit. I did notice last night when we did a full chicken in air fryer cook that the air system was spitting that exhaust heat straight out with no fanfare.

Also the inverter fridge freezer unit is absolutely dead silent in operation and the beer is very nicely chilled. Any heat emitted is stripped off the flanks off the unit and banished. We even get a 'carry on screaming' vapor roll out of the freezer compartment when going for a cube.

Tech working at two sites to simplify life. Very nice.

It is still 27kW hour exported but what a difference after growing used to seeing 50 to 60kWh consistently.

Just bought a new 100M roll of 4mm DC cable and a 10.set of mc4's for the next 1kW small install. Makes me very glad to be able to gen & send at 15p per kW with full control rather than 3.2p per kW with many continuity factors to generation success.

Those lightning strikes on the DNO really do add perspective.

Interesting IO outcomes presented for charge/discharge. 05.30 to 11.00. Looks like a sunny day too, Export PB so far is 62.42kWh. Let's see shall we?

Having fun with the export side of things. I noticed that the hybrid inverter was getting up to a decent temp as its running a lot more. At the top of the cooling fins it was getting close to uncomfortable to have hand on there.

Ran in a wee 4" usb fan angled to help lift heat up the back of the unit off the fins. Moved temperature probe off of Victron solar controller and onto a hybrid inverter side fin.

Huge difference in temperature and the time intervals have increased, so less cycling.




The Victron unit is still cooled anyway but now I'm on an export contract the hybrid inverter is the one to watch.

Yesterday was a very mixed bag of weather up here with low generation from PV (14 kwh total). Nonetheless..

£3.80 Ripple WT's
£3.60 Grid Export
£0.35 FIT

£3.60 Grid Import incl a decent EV charge.

After EV charge and house running costs we are left with £4.15 towards Octopus Winter VB and other projects on a single day.

I am very happy with that

On a low day like yesterday I leave stack exporting at 40% rate so there's no stress on me to check. That leaves some decent headroom for topping up from the Victron system by the time the sun is stronger (if it is). I can then whack the rate up later if need be when most of the home stuff is done.

This is a much easier way to manage a direct feed to battery PV add on system. Never worry about the stack being full and that PV system shutting off. Instead just chuck power out at the REALLY big system and get paid.

Ah grasshopper, it all becomes clear!

Working out very nicely there for you JB.
Never ceases to amaze me how small amounts add up over a period of time, yet most folk (certainly in my wider circle) just dont see it.
My boss for example buys a coffee from costafortune each morning on the way to work, at £3 a pop that works out quite pricey each month, sits in a chair right next to my kettle too, barmy really.

Am trying to persuade my Swmbo that she needs an extra bank of Colin Diy batteries on her Pylon stack, given doctors timescales for me to get her set up seem a bit more 'lengthy' than they first said. Meeting resistence at the moment but am working on it
