They had a fit but we had a compromise, I could keep the GPS but the Variometer and the radio transceiver had to go into a special sealed envelope and given to the air crew. It was handed back to me on landing.

Another guy in our group but coming from a different airport had his variometer confiscated until he returned home. Luckily someone had a spare one for him to borrow.
Just thinking about your MC4's, might have got tricky if they didn't quite hear the "M".
