Imagine for a minute you decided to do a DIY solarPV installation.
Imagine you've found the panels and the inverter you want, and have a tame builder who's happy to work at height, and a tame electrician who's keen to help.
Where would you go to buy the panel frames/ roof truss anchors/ solar PV DC wiring looms etc?

Ebay can be good for the odd item too, especially if you want a cheap second inverter.

Re: DIY solar
Just bought our new panels from Bimble, seem to be pretty good, panels ordered last week and are on their way here now. Only slight snag at the moment is finding companies with stocks of mounting hardware. Rail, in particular, seems to often be out of stock at the moment.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter

Re: DIY solar
Solar sparky had for me. Hit or miss though as the demand is clearing it out fast.Oldgreybeard wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 3:17 pm Just bought our new panels from Bimble, seem to be pretty good, panels ordered last week and are on their way here now.
