I have big panels on part of my roof.
JA solar 545w things (a bit like these but a little less power)

https://www.powerland.co.uk/collections ... mbb-lr-mc4

2278 x 1134 i think they are. They look and work great but have to have the clamps fitted on the long side only, i suppose they flex too much if bolted on the other way around. If id thought more about it id have had three rails installed for certainty, although the specs say two are enough.

One thing to watch is the wind when installing them! They are like holding onto a 30kg sail, and lifting them onto the roof wasnt too much fun.
4.0kw FIT PV solar Sunnyboy 4000tl & 21 Upsolar 190w panels
5.45kw JA Solar panels & Sunsynk ECCO 3.6kw.
7 x US5000 Pylontechs.
4500l RWH
Full Biomass heating system
iBoost HW divertor
Full house internal walls insulation
600min Loft insulation

My old small panels specifically say the same and the installer didn't do it like that. They came and redid them, left my roof full of holes. The Interest free loan company replaced the roof sheets but then the new different installer refitted the panels with clips on the short side despite me telling him why this was all happening. He also said the roof sheet fixings were too short- he was going to fix them through the peaks of the sheet. :head-bang: :head-bang: Absolute disaster and in the end the finance company then gave me money for me to sort it all out myself.

City electrical have Risen Titan 550w for just under £72 each, I am probably looking to buy 20 and they have 180 in stock at the moment. You need an account which I have and they did query about mcs registration but I know the manager so shouldn't be an issue.

Last time I bought there was a real scarcity of rails but i sourced at trade sparky. Where in the country are you Ken? Worth looking for a local contact to source from and save shipping. City plumbing would be worth a look too and well as ITS.

Are we seeing a significant shortage of large Watt panels now? I’m in the same boat here.

i dont really want to mix and match if i can avoid it but struggling to get 575’s with any degree of consistency.

I cant afford to buy 6 panels and keep them in the garage for a couple months until my ground mounts have been agreed. Or hold out and hope it all pans out?

I was hoping wed see a drop in price but seems solar is flavour of the month again.

Just bit the bullet and got a couple from bimble. This at least brings the partially shaded panels up to perc, half cut spec.

Maybe i’ll grab 4 more cheapy 435’s for the ground stuff as there is no shading there, and they perform very well in direct sunlight. I’ll just keep an eye on stock levels for both types.
