Best I can hope for this time of year!

Officially the first frost of the year this morning. It has been unseasonably mild until now but the cold conditions and completely cloudless sky (few vapour trails aside) have shown me the best I can hope for from my combined systems. There are houses behind and it takes the sun a long time do poke over the top this time of year, the new array being at the bottom of the garden and lower down is particularly afflicted.

Pretty good! :D I think we are seeing about 1kWh across the whole lot per day now.

Today is a glorious illustration of my PV/battery/ToU system all working perfectly. My consumption will be 25-30kWh but little-to-none will be "peak" electric (just what slips through the cracks of my inverter responsiveness) . I'll be able to turn the electric heaters on early this evening to use up a bit of battery before the cheap rate starts.

On the other hand last Tuesday I made 0.4kWh and was running on peak electric from 330pm until the cheap rate started at 830pm.

TBH, I've switched off (hah!) from the PV for the year due to nae generation and a burst meter. In saying that, I am enjoying my Woodstove, so that's good. Are you on Go?

I'm Go Faster with 2030-0030 4hr cheap rate.

Here is the SoC for my batteries yesterday. Starts 100%, discharges to 57%, charges from solar to 84%, discharges to 18%, charges to 100% from cheap rate.

Cranked on the resistive heating to drain the batteries so I could make the most of the stored energy ahead of the cheap rate and to save a bit of gas.

That's the way to do it. Once my meter is outputting again and the turbine is cranking we will be switching fully to storage and Woodstove for heating(In deep Winter). I have enjoyed this year as I know a load more than I used to so can bring a better plan to bear. We are both heading the same way eh? Less FF!

I'm on Go and have only used power during the cheap rate. So far 470Kwh since October but I left the batteries on equalise yesterday and the hot water on and used 30kwh last night .( still during the cheap rate).

Yesterday it was a lovely sunny day, as it is today, and my North East facing panels were very noticeably down on the overcast days before. Just shows how the clouds reflect the sunlight!
