Obtaining quotes as many of you are aware for an in roof solar PV system.

Quite a few quotes banging on about MCS accredited install but is that relevant any longer post FIT’s ?

Thanks all that’s what I thought so I’ve asked the company to remove the export meter from the quote and confirm that they have not overlooked non MCS equipment for my quote- can’t see the point in paying a premium price for equipment that doesn’t give and added benefit and I’m not going to sell power companies a kWh for 2p so they can sell it back later at 30+p a unit I would rather get extra batteries or as I said before for the parents I can divert excess to a HWT

Thanks

I thought if you moved to SEG you lost all your fit payments, not just the export?

No, you can just opt out of FIT export ONLY, but be warned there is no way back. And remember deemed exports are very worthwhile for folk with batteries self using most of it. Fits are also guaranteed with RPI protection for the FIT contract life. The only guarantee with SEG is that the payment will be more than zero.
