BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2

I've not read it yet. Heard the section on solar PV has gone from 5-pages to 15-pages. Anyone know what the changes/additions are?

I would guess it's a slow and loose alignment of part L and IEC 60364-8-801.
Hopefully electrical designers get more of a say in energy efficiency thanks to the new section.
But I wouldn't think that many new build developers will absorb the cost unless forced.
At least type AC RCD are now effectively banned.

Yeah, so many circuits have DC loads on them these days that you can assume most type-AC RCDs will be blinded and won't function.

Yeah, so many circuits have DC loads on them these days that you can assume most type-AC RCDs will be blinded and won't function.
You'd think, but my 2020 newbuild was provided with a dual type AC split load board, so in my experience there is a force driving whatever is cheapest.
It's a shame because experienced and decent electricians won't be able to compete on price with work and consumers know no better!
