Inverter CT clamp routing
Inverter CT clamp routing
I have to get my hybrid inverter out of the consumer unit through the wall and over to the outside battery shed.
Trouble is there’s a big lump at each end - besides me that is - one end is the CT clamp and the other is the plug to connect to the inverter.
I don’t seem to be able to undo the plug to get to the pins and terminals and the CT clamp appears equally secure with a square base that appears to be glued in place.
Do I have to cut the cable and then remake it after I thread it through the wall ? Are the two wires specifically positive and negative relative to the arrow on the CT clamp ?
Any guidance greatly received

Yeah it’s long enough but can’t safely drill a bigger hole as everyone for the last 100 years appears to have used the route for all the cables so chances of a cable strike are immense
The earth wire you can see is what I’ve managed to get through by carefully scraping and chipping away at the slate blocks and mortar - that’s took the best part of the day so far.

Everywhere else is EWI plus three ft thick slate and blue stone walls so a nightmare to cut through, last contractor that did us a core through the wall was here six hours and he scrapped a core bit into the process.
Hence my limited option of this little hard won gap or through the window and lock on the trickle vent and live with the extra ventilation.

It is likely to be be CAT3 cable, just cut and rejoin.

That’s a good call JB I will try to pull one through at the same time as the CT wire
Thanks Stinsey I guess cutting is the route forward - electrics and instrumentation not being my thing I tend to need some reassurance that I’m on the right track so thanks for your replies.
