Hello Ladies / Gents.
Any advice on monitoring software for Growatt inverters.

My answer is no but would similarly be interested if it means not having to have the inverter logged on to my wifi and accessing the infographics from growatt's server and not having to use "shine".
Growatt would still need access for firmware updates.

I think it's high time to look at this. The ShinePhone app or Shine site (or both) are broken most days.
Today the web app is completely broken and when it's not prompting me to log into the installer's site it's showing me someone else's installation.

That doesn't sound like good news for the Growatt inverter / battery which is due to be installed at mine next week

Our Growatt inverter works perfectly. Monitoring, not so much. Growatt's cloudy backend seems perpetually broken in one form or another.

Same here, I would love to know how to directly monitor though.

While it's not answering the original question, I have it on good authority that Growatt are in the process of upgrading their UK server and will be done by the end of this week, which will fix the phone app and web experience. The inverter itself doesn't seem to have any local web or ssh server so we may be limited to using the Growatt API to generate something that can be sent to Graphite.

I am jus wondering if the problems with Growatt server has been fixed after their upgrades?
I have a quote that includes using a growatt inverter so am interested in the monitoring side of things since that appears to be the weak area from what I see. Is there any other monitoring software in use here by those with Growatt inverters?

I can't answer for Growatt specific monitoring, as I have a Sofar, but the issue with being reliant on some server in China to monitor performance, though a pretty flaky app that is almost certainly gathering data for use by others, maybe be the same. My initial solution was to connect a Raspberry Pi to the Modbus connection on the inverter and have that run a web interface using Grafana that can only be seen via the LAN (so not internet connected -my choice for privacy reasons). That is a million times better than the flaky Solarman app that cam with the inverter.
A week or two ago I installed Home Assistant on another Raspberry Pi and have had that working for the past few days sniffing data from the inverter wifi connection (again locally, no internet connectivity). I'm impressed with Home Assistant, it is far less "geeky" than my first fix and doesn't really need much in the way of technical ability to get working.
I haven't looked to see if there is a Growatt option for Home Assistant, but there seems to be a myriad of off the shelf options for it, so I would be surprised if there isn't. Home Assistant itself is extremely well sorted and easy to use, so easy that this afternoon I sorted out getting it to control the aircon in our bedroom - cost me £15 for a universal remote interface (converts wifi to IR remote commands) and ten minutes setting up the unit and integrating it into Home Assistant. We can now schedule the aircon, change temperatures, etc all from any device in the house that can run a web browser.
