Just got my octopus bill today and both saving sessions this month, even when they were in the afternoon, 5 out of the 6 of the in day adjustment slots were charged at cheap rate because of the special IO tariff benefits.

Example on the 13th Feb, the only additional cost to me on that day was a £2.34 cost which was the peak rate differential for one half hour slot. All normal cheap rate for the standard 6 hours was shifted and concentrated into the 3 hour in day adjustment slot.

Reward was 38,508 points including 100 bonus points or a £48.14 rebate.

Probably only two more test sessions left for this season.

A not too dissimilar result again for me with cheap rate IO shenanigans again. Need to strategically keep the EV at 50% SOC for the headroom required to persuade the IO tariff to offer the extra cheap slots in the afternoon. :geek:

doh :(

While I'm not bothered about the monetary value of the bonus points, I believe there's supposed to be some prize draw later if you were in all the sessions, so hoping this doesn't rule me out of that. Pretty sure I've been opted in to all sessions.

Hardly seems worth bothering an already overworked Octopus CS about it though

The bonus point seem to often come when they announce the next saving session for me.

This is my first session. I didn't consider that due to the (simple) way the difference is calculated, this is an arbitrage - I thought it was not worth the effort for a few pounds!

No luck with cheap rate beforehand. I am in the North West and have been on IO since July last year. I think I have seen 2x cheap rate slots in the day in total. Not sure if this is the area or having a 22kW charger.
