Sofar ME3000SP solarman connection

#1

Post by upsidedowncatfish »

Hello. Quite new here ....
I want to use Solarman to monitor my ME3000SP and batteries. There's some help on how to connect to the ME3000SP, but it all hinges on being able to see the details on the WiFi sender - and I can't!
My inverter looks like this:

... and I can't see the device id or password
All the advice shows an inverter looking like this (with the WiFi unit visible and the device ID and password accessible.

I inherited the system with the house when I bought it; and the installer has gone out of business, so I have no route forward there.

Am I being stupid? Can anybody help?

Is the WIFI aerial connected on the inside of the inverter, it may not be or could be dead.

The ID/serial number 'should' be visible, even if it means removing the cover. Once you have that I'd talk to the manufacturer. It will be talking their system and they should be able to tell you how to connect to it at your end and see what's going on. Did you inherit the router/wifi system or is it new with your move, in which case you'll need to tell the inverter the new connection info as the inverter won't be talking to anything.

Thanks, I'll take a look under the cover next time I have the unit off / isolated.

Yes, inherited. I have (from web search) instructions how to pair to the sender, but they relate to what is obviously a more recent version of the unit ... I'm hoping somebody can recognise the two versions and point e in the right direction. It could be that my unit is so old (6-7 years) that I am wasting my time and the capbilities are not worth the effort.

If you remove the cover you can get the wifi serial number off the sticker.

You may well find it's already registered to a plant when you try to add it in the app. If so you will then have to contact Sofar support to get it removed from the old plant. (I've just done a couple this weekend, I sent a photo of the serial just to show them i had it in my possession.)

It's pretty simple.

Get app, register, add plant, add data logger- it guides you through.

I fitted a second hand inverter.
Mate down the road walked in and showed me the
power being produced on his phone.
No looking / info taken from inverter
