I think that must be what you are paying for. All the photos show them stacked outside a house. Nice and easy to steal :<

So all inverters let you charge / use energy at the same time, would it be called pass thru?

It absolutely isn't "pass through".

The inverter just adds or takes power from the grid according to your instructions. You might instruct it to exports as fast as it can (or at a particular rate), you might instruct it to charge as fast as it can (or at a particular rate), or you might instruct it to use a CT to try to keep the grid usage at zero, so it charges when your solar is generating more than you're using and discharges when you're using more than you're generating.

You certainly can have "pass through" with a Victron inverter where all your loads are being supplied from the grid passing through the inverter and the inverter is effectively doing nothing.

wookey wrote: Sun Dec 31, 2023 1:13 pm Has anyone tried/investigated the new pylontech Pelio packs? It's a snazzier-looking form factor and much higher C-rate, but I've not found any info on whether they are as hackable as the pylontechs. Maybe they use exactly the same protocol (that would be sensible, but who knows).
https://en.pylontech.com.cn/products/c23/135.html
I guess the Pelio is brand new. I've not heard of them bein in-stock at a UK supplier let alone know of anyone with them in and working. I assume the protocol is identical (would be silly to do anything else!).

I have heard of a few "Pylon-Force L2" installations. Seems to be a similar concept...
That's what I have. Original 2 modules are now 18 months old and I added a third as even in summer they were running out by the end of the night.

They were not my first choice (that was BYD) but I like them as all the wiring is internal, so they do not look out of place in the lobby just off our kitchen.

SoH is currently 97% but I have no idea how that translates to life expectancy. Have had no concerns except they will not discharge below 10% with the standard Victron settings as it trips on low voltage.

Worried now they will be superseded by the Pelio mentioned upthread and I won't be able to expand further.

If you have a Cerbo GX then you have access to 100's of settings and visualisations via the web or locally. There is no point getting the one with the screen as it displays the same as accessing it via a webpage on your phone. In fact I have a very old iPad v2 plugged in via a cable to the cerbo and it is my screen in the power station. And you can run node red which allows all sorts of things.Right now I've coded my setup to use power during the typical savings session periods. Ie pass through. But only if the battery was going to run down early. It is sooo flexible it's unbelievable.
