.
That's good if it's not over voltage then so maybe I can fiddle with the inverter battery type settings to wake it up?

I have connected the inverter to the battery with a normal RJ45 patch lead which I have tested and found OK - how I check if the message is in the right format, please?
.
In the instruction manual it says : Communication interfaces: Can/RS232

The screen in the invertor, under "Battery" says "BMS disconnected " bit the RJ45 is plugged in to the BMS socket OK But I have nothing plugged in the Battery temp sensor socket

I don't know about the Solax but you comment about using RS232 suggests that the cable required may npt be straight through, most RS232 connections I have seen use the same pinouts at each end and require the cable to perform the crossover. Might be worth checking if a normal "Ethernet" patch cable is suitable of if the pinouts are different. Certainly in this document https://www.solaxpower.com/uploads/file ... ual-en.pdf the pinots shown are not the same as EIA568A or B but if both ends are straight through that may not be a problem.

thanks countryPaul,

I.m pretty sure it is standard RJ45 cable

You're right, even the document I linked to has 568B so not sure what I was looking at earlier.

Yes it's a standard patch cable from the battery.

Right, thanks, now I'll ask someone I know how to sniff both ends for a signal
