I was not 100% sure the functionality had changed (when I PM'd you) but this evening I am now certain you are right that the Octopus App is no longer altering the Tesla App SOC.Yuff wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:08 amHi Nowtynowty wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 8:20 pmThe rate will be whatever bids are accepted, probably around 20p to 30p / kWh as there will be traded off against extra gas generation.AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 4:23 pm Do we know what this year's bumper export rate will be?
So if simple import falls you get a credit, and I imagine that if you don't import then, an extra export will give an even bigger negative amount "consumed," so getting octopoints on top of the export rate?
And yes if you export you get both the "bigger negative credit" and the 15p export rate on top, so as I export anyway its still worth doing. But avoid exporting on a non saving session day during peak period as that will lower your baseline. Instead if you have IOG tariff, game cheap slots during peak period and increase your consumption as that will boost your baseline.
Is the octopus working as it was previously. There was a period when octopus was altering my Soc in the Tesla but that seems to have stopped. I have tried pm’ing you but the message won’t send
It does not matter though, in terms of gaming cheap slots, in fact it avoids the minor annoyance of getting cheap slots when they are unwanted.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
What a shambles, there have been 2 live sessions already, Fri 29th Nov and Mon 2nd Dec, both with a 500MW requirement, only two companies bid, Axle and Gridimp at circa 75p for a handful of MW's and were both rejected.
The messages clearly are not coming through normal channels (via elexon) anymore, going to have to look on the demand-flexibility website daily from now on. https://www.neso.energy/data-portal/demand-flexibility
There is obviously a wide boycott so far as Octopus indicated they might not be in the first few.

Another live 2 hour session today and this time bids have been accepted at around 50p to 57p / kWh.
Only Axle and Gridimp in it.
EDIT - There was a capacity market notice earlier.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Do we think octopus are flexing their muscles and won’t be calling on their large customer base, to help, out, until customers are rewarded with higher offerings?

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Last year the two largest suppliers Octopus and British Gas combined had around something like 200MW or 300MW of firepower. Today the total providers Axle and Gridimp are providing about 12MW.
The signup email from Octopus did say,
"Saving Sessions aficionados might be aware that the service has technically started. We'd been holding out for better value, so there's a chance we might end up the missing the first sessions while we regroup."

And another session tonight thats the 4th "scheduled live" one in the first week and for the last 3 consecutive days, Octopus are still not in it though.
Its a 3 hour one as well.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
5 companies were in tonight's session, Axle, Cub, Equiwatt, Gridimp and Infins.
They bid between 45p and 65p / kWh and all bids were rejected.
Not surprising as the wind is forecast to be rising fast from mid afternoon.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Feels like all these savings slots are designed to feel out the bite point that the suppliers will be happy to contribute at - surely though the key parameter is the minimum price that the gas generators can operate at ?
