A loss of load brownout is the last thing we need - the anti-renewables anti-netzero brigade will be all over the media gloating like a pig in sh*t if that happens. It's not even particularly cold

Was there a SS? Have I missed it? Was it some regions only?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

Octopus bids of 50p / kWh was rejected.

There is little reason to run all the previous ones this season including today so I look at them as test sessions.

The next 3 consecutive days Wed, Thu, Fri will be more interesting, they or something else like capacity market, emergency reserve, etc will be needed.

New wording on Octopus website for Saving Sessions, I'm not happy.

"The grid service that Saving Sessions is part of has made some changes. Without getting into the nuts and bolts – there’ll be more sessions but with a lower reward. Plus: the service wants us to save less energy than last winter – that’s right, Octopus customers are so impactful, we may actually save too much energy for the service. This year, we’re doing things a little differently.

To spice things up, we’re throwing some friendly competition into the mix, with regions going head to head in a battle to lower the kilowatts! You’ll be invited to join sessions by region (so you’ll be part of some sessions and skip others)."

I really need some notice (official or educated guess) to rinse my baseline consumption ahead of time and charge my batteries on the day...

given that my solar gain is negligable (1kWh today) there is no chance of mid-day or afternoon electrons going to waste, so from now on I might as well charge my battery up fully at 2 a.m. (cheap rate, for those of us not on any kind of Go) in case a savings session / Premium export opportunity arises..

Agile import is peaking in my area at 93p / kWh tomorrow evening.

And Agile export is peaking at 40p / kWh.

Worth gaming a lunchtime cheapslot to charge the batteries or no?

My typical day is batts charged full by 05:30, then force discharge 2kW + heat the house until sometime between 15:00 and 17:00, then game cheapslot and charge until 19:00 to 20:00, then export again at 2kW until the main cheapslot starts, then charge batts and heat water. And repeat every day.

So if a saving session is on, we'll probably know by midday, then I am going to have to instantly game cheapslots and charge batts and overheat the house before turning everything off and exporting at max during the saving session.

I am wondering if say its a 3 hour session (which up to now they seem to be), maybe Octopus will do it regionally 1 hour per 1/3 of the country and give everyone the same averaged rebate. I must admit, if I export full for 3 hours I'm going to drain half my batts. Not a problem in summer but difficult in winter when the batts need to heat the house.

Its going to be really unfair if different regions get different days on differing rebate rates.
