As you can see in my sig I have 5-ish kWp of PV and in the calander month of March that generated 443kWh.
The idea that solar-generated electric is different from grid and battery electric seems to have taken root. You REALLY need to untrain that from your mind. It is just electrons wobbling to and fro.
Setting Lux to discharge to house while exporting PV

12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger
(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

I see that works for you. Unfortunately when battery is depleted I have no means of achieving additional slots at low rate.Stinsy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:43 pmYou're overthinking all of this!
Here is what I do: Charge battery on cheap rate. Discharge the battery into the grid at max power. When it is sunny this doesn't deplete the battery. However when it isn't sunny the battery runs out mid-afternoon. As soon as the battery is depleted I game additional cheap slots.
Below is my March bill. I use a gargantuan amount of power. I have a 5-bed house, heat and cook with electric, and have 2x EVs. I also have a small battery and inverter. But I paid £30 including standing charge in March. April will be negative.
However having learnt about forced discharge I am using this to export all solar and also discharge battery close to depletion by 23.20 just before I recharge on low rate.
Out of interest to what level of SOC do you limit charge and discharge your Pylontech batteries? There seems to be a wide range of opinion on what is best.
Re: Setting Lux to discharge to house while exporting PV
I haven’t heard “wide ranging opinions”. Mine are 6 years old so I charge them to 100% and discharge to 10%. Newer ones can be discharged to 5%.
Why can’t you get additional cheap slots? I thought you were on Intelligent?
