It’s the start (1pm) of the 3 hr “In Day Adjustment Value" window for tonight’s 2 hour saving session.

Just as well as I I’m desperate for extra power hours to keep me from switching on the gas in this coldsnap. EV is only 20% and home battery bank is 50%. SWMBO has requested a washing load go on too.

I’m planning on averaging a 20kW draw, so 60kWh over the 3 hour period which will cost me £18.36 on my tariff, or a premium of £13.86 over my cheapslot cost.

But potentially 72,000 Octopoints (or £90) on offer.

Or another way of looking at it, it’s like having a 3 hour agile import slot at a price of -120p / kWh in the afternoon.
Or a 7% increase on my Octopus Virtual Battery. :o

Was going to say the same !

at 13:30, Gridwatch has demand at nearly 45 GW, highest I have seen for a long time. Everything flat out except wind and solar which are showing as under 2GW combined.................

My gas tracker is showing -2.86p per kWh? How can that be possible?

Mine is showing 2.14p/kWh, on a day like this ?

Maybe they want us to cane the gas rather than the leccy. :?

Well, I've broken and I'm heating the HWT and being paid for it. This is nuts!

There is an oddity with the current tracker tariff which means that the government discount can make it go below the capped price as its deemed a fixed rate tariff.

The new tracker will be based so it can only go below the ceiling price if the actual market price is lower so it still gets the discount but the discount wont take it below the standard capped price.
