And Agile export is peaking at 40p / kWh.
Worth gaming a lunchtime cheapslot to charge the batteries or no?
My typical day is batts charged full by 05:30, then force discharge 2kW + heat the house until sometime between 15:00 and 17:00, then game cheapslot and charge until 19:00 to 20:00, then export again at 2kW until the main cheapslot starts, then charge batts and heat water. And repeat every day.

So if a saving session is on, we'll probably know by midday, then I am going to have to instantly game cheapslots and charge batts and overheat the house before turning everything off and exporting at max during the saving session.

I am wondering if say its a 3 hour session (which up to now they seem to be), maybe Octopus will do it regionally 1 hour per 1/3 of the country and give everyone the same averaged rebate. I must admit, if I export full for 3 hours I'm going to drain half my batts. Not a problem in summer but difficult in winter when the batts need to heat the house.

Its going to be really unfair if different regions get different days on differing rebate rates.
I'm happy to do a 3hr discharge. It'd drain my batteries from full to empty but so long as I have the EV at a level where I can get additional cheapslots before and after I'm game!

I can crank the resistive heaters ahead of time too so no need for heating during the SS.

I just want to be of the bench and on the field!

As suspected another 3 hour session is scheduled for tonight 4pm to 7pm.

Currently awaiting the bids which will likely come in around midday, something tells me Octopus might be in it tonight.

I can’t manage 3 hours with no heating, unless we all sit in the lounge with the gas fire on :freezing:

Our house doesn't cool down that quickly. I'm sat here and we've had no heating since 0900 house is fine. At some point in the afternoon when I feel a bit of a chill I'll get the A2A going and that turns itself off at 8pm. In subzero temps the A2A runs all day, but right now, in single-digits, one cycle in the morning and one cycle in the afternoon is plenty.

So if there is a 3hr SS I'll make sure the house is up to temp before it starts bit it shouldn't be too much hardship.

Our house doesn’t cool down that quickly I just have inhabitants, of a certain sex, who think 24°c is chilly, so I have 1 hand tied behind my back before we start….. :head-bang:

Bids are in and Octopus was accepted at 75p / kWh but only between 6pm to 7pm.
I suspect there is some restriction on Octopus bidding in all slots because of their large volume sizes and taking the lions share of the available pot.

Bids ranged from 37p to 75p / kWh and ALL bids were accepted with Octopus the highest.

On the flip side, we have a reasonable baseline at 6-7pm, probably starting at 10 kWh plus export. So a worthwhile hour saving

I wonder if this will update this year

We are on then?

The Mrs is out this evening so should be a doddle to keep the consumption low...

It should be as I note Octopus bid volumes across all regions so I don't think this one will be a regional session.
