My Victron Smart Shunt is telling me there is a 10kW+ DC draw from my battery banks during this SS.
Not quite as high, but very close.
My discharge was a wee bit more but then I reduced it to export 5.5kW for the following hour. After that I had a cheap slot till 23:30 so started charging the batteries, of course I forgot to reduce the export and it was at 5.5kW from 0530 this morning, duh!
I've got a scheduling system running in Node Red, it works very well now, had some mishaps whilst adjusting the code for IOG, but all seems to be working now.
I haven't automated saving session option in though, and I need to set the schedule in my dashboard, but that's very easy and I usually do that from my phone.
PS What inverter have you got, there's no Victron stuff in your signature?

What's the best way to utilise the saving session with batteries?
Do you just export as much as you can from the batteries during the hour and obviously try to use as little electricity from the grid as possible?
On the run up you need to “rinse”. Which is to game additional cheapslots and use as much power as possible/charge your car and batteries when you feel there might be a SS (typically 1700-1900 weekdays). Then on the day: make sure our batteries are charged, turn everything off, export at full whack!
Bit of a faff changing all your settings, and back when you could earn £10-20 from a SS it seemed worthwhile. But now it is £1-2 it is more fun than profit.

Is the hour before still taken into account for base or is it just the same time slot of previous days?
Just the actual slot on the previous 10 non-SS days. There was an in day adjustment in the past but that is long gone…
And to be clear a non-SS day is a non DFS called day as there are many DFS called days which Octopus don't bid or are rejected. And if its at a weekend, the rules get really complicated. Its the last 4 non DFS weekend days but its the average of the two middle days if that makes any sense.
Also I think bank holidays are included as weekend days.
