Which is to game additional cheapslots and use as much power as possible/charge your car and batteries when you feel there might be a SS (typically 1700-1900 weekdays). Then on the day: make sure our batteries are charged, turn everything off, export at full whack!

Bit of a faff changing all your settings, and back when you could earn £10-20 from a SS it seemed worthwhile. But now it is £1-2 it is more fun than profit.
Even though I'm on IOG now, I just can't be bothered with that, it's not worth the hassle. I don't get home from work until 17:30, and I only charge the car once a week.

I never export anything from the batteries until 19:30, so our baseline is generally around zero, during a SS I set the inverter at maximum export.

I have noticed with these nice sunny days that were still exporting excess solar around 4pm, so that will adversely affect baseline.

Well yes. You might well argue that all the faffing is no longer worthwhile now the additional gain is pennies rather than pounds. But some of us like pennies!

You don't need to worry about it today as Octopus’s bid was rejected. £120 was the max accepted.

Frankly, I would like to see Octopus offer IOG customers the Flux export rates for evening peak hours instead of opting into Saving Sessions.

This would better align behaviour with the greater good instead of encouraging 'rinsing' on non DFS called days which actually makes the evening peak demand worse.

It'd let you set-and forget all your timers!

I still like the pennies, after all look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves. Hence I export at maximum in a SS but we still cook dinner and watch the news, where as last year we'd minimise electric use during the SS.

If I was at home maybe I would game some IOG slots, but its just not worth the hassle for me.

Just the actual slot on the previous 10 non-SS days. There was an in day adjustment in the past but that is long gone…
And to be clear a non-SS day is a non DFS called day as there are many DFS called days which Octopus don't bid or are rejected. And if its at a weekend, the rules get really complicated. Its the last 4 non DFS weekend days but its the average of the two middle days if that makes any sense. :whako:

Also I think bank holidays are included as weekend days.
Thankyou gents. Would explain my poor baseline despite putting the car on for an hour before the recent slots

Good! Had a little rinse yesterday so hopefully my baseline has gone up a kWh or two…

Sorry but as a DFS was called, yesterdays rinse won't count. :teapot:
