Are we calling it “done”
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

I wouldn't say its done for good but presently it doesn't look like its much good to a cohorts operating practises - whether the situation will change / improve in the near future is a tough question to answer.

I cant see Octopus giving up on an income stream - so I reckon they are looking at something that will match their needs with their customers in order to leverage benefits - just got to wait and see.

The chances get less and less as Solar generation encroaches into the peak period. There will still be DFS sessions but unless Octopus lowers its bids its not going to get any accepted. I thought we were done a couple of weeks back but we did get another one last week, so its not impossible, just unlikely.

Another DFS today but Octopus were rejected at 15.4p / kWh, quite surprisingly bids of 15p / kWh or less were accepted. Its as if Octopus do not want to be part of it.

perhaps they have recognised that setting it up and doing the number-crunching cost more than it brings in...

Shame that it has moved to a model that doesn't suit Octopus, they lead the charge on this for so many years but seem to have had their bids declined more often than not this year!

Are we going to start seeing "free power hours" from Octopus in the coming weeks I wonder?

Already seeing negative wholesale prices during daytime due to high wind and solar, and very low gas - great for the pumped hydro and grid-scale batteries out there to get paid to charge up - when do we get a go at that too?!

As a reminder, National Grid are targeting 2025 for periods of 100% zero carbon generation when conditions allow - so well worth keeping an eye on the gas (and biomass) generation on the grid.
