That is interesting. I always switch off smart charging during these "power hours" because I don't want the car charging at 7.4kW while Octopus are monitoring it.
I'm charging the IOG EV controlled one at 10A and SWMBO EV at 32A.
With 2 mins to go before the power-hour finished, I stopped the car charging, switched to 6A, turned smart charging on, and asked for a charge schedule. So at least the 2nd half will be at double-bubble...

It should be near quadruple bubble, x3.7 on my tariff if I pay 7p but get 26p rebate for every kWh used.

The way it seems to work for me (without an EV) is that my bill includes the price of the units at the standard rate (23.57p,) but I get the power hour consumption credited back separately so it effectively costs me nothing. That messes up my spreadsheet though! Of course I re-export as much of it as I can straight away in the next evening peak at 27.33p.

Results are in from the last free power hour - bagged myself a massive 11p's worth of free electricity. It all counts I guess!

Not bad considering the weather was too warm to require spaceheating and I only have a teeny inverter. It is the credited-for-peak-price-billed-for-off-peak part that makes it free money!

Hopefully, there'll be far more of them this winter! (Samse as the saving sessions, too few and far-between for my liking!).

Good results at Nowty Towers for the last Power hour day on the 20th Oct.

Total cost of leccy for the entire day £7.72

A free leccy reward of £5.63

And the power hour plus extra IOG slots allowed me to have a second bite of the cherry at exporting in a single day which rewarded me with another £5.94

And that was on a day where my solar generation was dire. :whako:

Hi nowty....

Where do you find the lovely bar chart you posted with consumption and unit rate on the octopus website/app?

Thanks.

That's actually from my latest bill, screengrab from the PDF file, not from the website / app.
