I've tried very hard to make sure everything is "dead-mans-handle" insomuch that it works without interference and that things that do require/benefit from intervention, such can be administered by speaking to "Alexa".

The possibility that I'll break something with my constant meddling is far higher than the possibility that I'll be incapacitated and therefore unable to maintain the system.

I was even rewarded £4 for not opting in properly on the second saving session.

We have managed to stay above water in Nov and are 14.8% to the good in the VB. Luckily we can run this particular battery flat which is highly likely this month. I'll be very happy at that level. Leaving Jan & Feb to dance between the raindrops (hail).

Both cars charging tonight, storage heaters boosting and A2A heatpumps still on and I didn't realise SWMBO was on an ironing session. :?

Up in the North at my folks today and it’s snowing, so feeling quite Xmas’y. :D

Radiators are too hot to touch. , but at least it’s warm. 8-)

I’ve just been checking out his Octopus account, he’s doing very well on leccy, only 3 kWh a day, but gas is verging on the 200 kWhs a day in this cold.

But am I telling him to turn it down ?, well not while I’m here.

He’s still on 3.5p for gas until July.

Over the past three days our electricity use has been very high, with the heating on a lot more than normal. We are averaging 21kWh per day from the grid over the past three days, all at the cheap overnight rate (and including one car top up charge of about 12kWh), but still a heck of a lot for us. We usually average about half that.

At our current E7 tariff that's costing us about £3.80 a day, so not too bad, but it does still look high when you're used to paying a great deal less. Still. can't complain. It's still -3°C outside right now (dipped to -5°C here over night), and the hall thermostat is still showing 22.1°C, which is warm enough for us.
25 off 250W Perlight solar panels, installed 2014, with a 6kW PowerOne inverter, about 6,000kWh/year generated
6 off Pylontech US3000C batteries, with a Sofar ME3000SP inverter
