Virtual Battery (VB) is now over 100% SOC which is enough to run Nowty Towers for at least a year.

That is excellent news, once Kirkhill kicks in there will be a Turbine paid holiday? We are a little over 20% soc in the VB now. Would hope that will be enough to slide us through another month on our payment holiday. Just used the extra charge window in IO to boost the home stack and EV. All done from my bed in 🇹🇷 , that coupled with a better WT day yesterday has left me feeling like a mildly flawed cousin of Thor.

Edit-Just a thought, the beautiful thing about the V in VB is that you now have infinite charging capacity in your back pocket. None of that physical limitation nonsense.

What is the virtual battery for?
My saving session session on the 30th January was not that productive, from my figures I should have received more than 11k points, this weeks session seemed back to normal and received 35k.
I didn’t use much more electric according to my system but saved 6kw on the 30th Jan and 17kw on 13 feb. Not too keen to contact octopus to investigate

VB is a notional £1,000 figure linked to each person's Octopus account. My account balance is £217 right now so my VB is at 21.7% soc.

Edit- It's primary purpose was to give Ripple WT owners a way to communicate in an even fashion on how well or not their Ripple investment is working for them. It has now naturally morphed to take into account the Octopus saving sessions too.

At some point down the road we will need to recalibrate the VB. As with the new rate per kWh from Graig Fatha applied on 01/03/23 and Kirkhill wind farm coming online towards year end the scale will need to change or we will see 1,000% soc's in VB's

You may have used some leccy during the saving session time on some of the previous 10 working days. The maths only works in the extraordinary way when your leccy use during the previous 10 days is as close to zero as possible.

I see it as a reward for permanently removing oneself from the peak demand times.

With Kirkhill cranking, would get to 325% SOC sometime in 2025. :D

But in reality will be making a withdrawal to part fund project 3 in conjunction with my next FIT payment.

Nowty,
I haven't even ran the scenario. What with the leap in March pricing and the ferocity of Kirkhll site in comparison and lastly having been able to slither this far toward Spring on a payment holiday.... I don't dare! I am a believer in karma and the potential for human nudged synchronicity. As a result I will be very happy to place the excess with daughterly, or as i now call her, EH3. :ugeek: 8-)

I forgot about the massive rebate increase in March, make that at least a year earlier in 2024.

I don't think Kirkhill generation prices are locked in yet either? We are talking Tsunami.

No, but the year ahead prices have stabilised at around 15p / kWh now.
We got lucky in locking in the high second year price on WT1.

As long as the rebate price stays ahead of my cheapslot import price, I'm happy.

Nat gas is trading below 50 euro per MWh which helps.
