I am more than confident that once they have enough of the general public; bought and familiar with the process, having their smart meters fitted to join the fun, that they will moderate the system to make it work better for them - its got to be the cheapest grid management option available to them so the money individuals make is small beer.
I agree, and further I would say that it's probably quite a cheap experiment, regardless who it's funded by and whether we think it is over-generous.

I think of it as being like the ongoing Covid surveillance run by the ONS. Several of my friends can't believe their luck at still being given £20 a month for a drip of blood!

£20 only!? I'm sure I needed to pay more to my kids to convince them for a blood test.

I'm two bonuses short.

Octopus says,
"We take 1 or two bonuses from the 400,000 participants and add it to Greg's account, its about £50k. And lets face it, you battery feckers aren't likely to complain" ;)

I thought I would post this here rather than in media as it underpins the direction of the savings scheme in the future and the fact that the pay-outs to attract people to sign up are small.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/technol ... bd96&ei=20

saving 4 billion a year savings suggests they need to be paying you a bit more than they do, the bit I have always objected to is that they plan toy use your cars battery and your home battery for their needs - in the long run will the amount they reimburse you really cover the wear and tear on your infrastructure as well as the power taken?

Still sceptical myself, but hope ultimately to be proven wrong.
