So.. starting in about half an hour from now!

Well, that was outstanding. Got a LOT done in a short space of time and as a bonus got to see the battery stacks top out and shutdown. Never fails to amaze me watching the final powershift and shutdown of the Pylontechs and this time watching the LF280's peak and the final power flow from the pylontechs to the LF's. Pretty excellent window. Cheers Nowty. :D

3.77v on a LiFePO4 seems quite high! :o

These are supposed to max out at 3.65v - might need to check your charge voltage?

It is likely to be cheap gauge inaccuracy. Will check with a meter next time I'm up there. It only took about 20 mins on a falling charge rate to go from 3.54V yo 3.77V.

Possible it's inaccuracy as it is "only" a 3% error BUT if not the it is not doing your LF280k's any good and the situation will get worse as we move into April and May.

The voltage rises rapidly once they hit 3.5V, at that point they are more than 95% charged.

Was that all cells or just one "runaway" cell?

I've just been out and checked with my multimeter and the difference is 0.01V between the meter(old and about £12 new) and the blue lcd gauge. The gauge being 0.01V higher. So it's not that far out. When the reading was at 3.77V there was still power being fed into the Pylontechs and onward into the LF280's and they are being controlled by the pylontech parameters set in the hybrid inverter and its been like that for 5 years (eek)! Next time it's fully charged I'll see what it falls back to when I cut power to it. I'll also try my two other meters tomorrow and see how they compare. Worth watching.

You need to check ALL the cells at the same time. One cell could be up at 3.7 V and most of the others still below 3.5V. hence why Pylons were still charging.

I did comment in another thread that if you are relying on a balancing board alone and have no BMS then the balance board needs a current capability to mach the max charge current to catch a "runaway" cell. Though that us just my view🙂
