Well that was a very nice Easter Sunday. Broke 40kWh gen (41.5kwh) for the first time this year. All used onsite including SWMBO out in EV today and running on our own self generation. That felt magnificent. :xl:

Very little SH on now and same for WBS. Didn't fire it up until 5 pm this evening. Not bad for a day that started with frost on the grass!

In the house & walking towards the South facing glazed big lounge and I could feel the warm air coming the other way from solar gain. Confident that is from my felling antics over the last year or so. A noticeable improvement. I'll run the figures tomorrow and compare against last March.

I think today we ran at no cost and may have made £1. :D

Edit,.... tomorrow.

First full day back in Nowty Towers after our solar eclipse chasing adventure which is a bit ironic for Nowty Towers in search for zero PV generation. ;)

And its a 2024 PB with over 67 kWh today and still generating but will only add a further fraction of a kWh. I have had a look back and I think my best ever was 70.6 kWh on 27th May 2021, I've also had numerous 68 kWh days.

But now with some extra capacity, I'm wondering if an 80 kWh day will be possible next month. :xx:

72 kWh today from the solar PV so its a Nowty Towers PB of all time. :)

Unfortunately the coming week looks mediocre.

Another good month when energy costs are negative here at Nowty Towers.

The Octopus Outgoing seems to be going especially well.

A few all time PB's have fallen yesterday (Monday) at Nowty Towers. (nowtyPB)

1) PB of home solar PV generation of 77kWh, it was not wall to wall sunshine either so maybe 85kWh might be possible in late May.

2) PB of 62 kWh home exported on Octopus Outgoing (OO).

3) PB of combined generation of home solar PV 77kWh + 57kWh on Ripple GF wind turbine = 134 kWh. :xx:

It was windy in the Ripple KH area too.

Financial Benefit for 29/04/24
FIT1 £17.39
FIT2 £5.51
OO Export £9.00
Ripple GF £3.73
--------------------
Total £35.63 8-)

CO2 saved
Based on todays average carbon intensity in my generating regions - Circa 20 kg

I have received a mystery parcel from Octopus.
Image

It explained why I recently had been awarded a bonus of 6400 Octopoints worth £8, so whatever I'm doing they seem to like my feedback.
Image

Now lets think, that £8 of credit will turn into 106 kWh of cheapslot which my EV would take me say near 400 miles. But if I used that credit to fund charging my home battery on cheapslot at 7.5p / kWh and then I export it at 15p / kWh on Octopus Outgoing I would double my free mileage. Or continue to double it until I run out of battery storage, import/export capacity or hours in the day/night to continue the shenanigans.

Oh, I already seem to be at that limit.

A slight improvement on a couple of all time PB's yesterday (Saturday) at Nowty Towers. (nowtyPB)

1) PB of home solar PV generation of 78kWh (+1 kWh on last PB), quite surprised me as some cloud came over on a few occasions.

2) PB of 69kWh (+7 kWh on last PB) exported on Octopus Outgoing.

Love reading this thread, you guys continue to amaze me with what you get upto.

Still dont understand why, with all the power coming in then going out, the local rozzers havent paid a visit thinking your running an illicit canabis factory of something. :hysteria:

top stuff

Damn those cheap panels at City Plumbing with free delivery, I don't want any more honest. ;)

But they could replace 4 on my front porch sitting on prime SSW facing real estate. Then those existing 4 could replace the non matching silver frame ones on my decking area which were originally on the front porch to start off with.

These are the last ones, honest. :xx:
