Ref "I thought he made the one of the string cables from the roof longer than the other to prevent accidental touching "

Yes he did.

But. REF " Cables being stripped live with metal cutters using his thumb to push the metal cutting blade while the insulation gets pulled off while the other cable already stripped bare dangles by and behind his arm.[/b] :o  :D

Why not install the cables with markings for each string.
With cables marked red / blue you will always know what plug / socket goes where.
Test that it is wired correctly.
Test that the cable resitance is correct.

Before making the system live.

He says there is 1 volt D.C. Difference in voltage between the roof connections
Quote.
“ Up there 296 volts “

“ Down here 295 volts. “

“ We have lost one volt between the loft and the garage. T hats good. “

He has not factored in that the Big Yellow thing shining on the panels has moved since he measured the voltage in the loft and came down and measured it in the garage.

He has not factured in that clouds will change the voltage.

He just says. “ We have lost one volt between the loft and the garage. Thats good “

The whole video was just made as a JOKE to wind people UP ???? :ugeek:

It is a JOKE.

As I said upthread, more importantly he is not drawing any current so with his DMM (input resistance 20 MOhm?) he has no idea whether his crimps are any good or the cable resistance is milliohms or kilo-ohms or indeed consists of wet string.

The whole video is frightening.

Working on live cables like that is just plain DANGEROUS. Making them difference lengths is no safeguard. If your going to do that, strip one, fit connector and then do the other.

Relying on no earth path is dangerous.

It's bad enough on that install but imagine he is doing an install on a metal building with a string of 1000v and he'd trapped one of the cables under a panel.

The reference to voltages just shows ignorance.
