What with my elsewhere-documented inverter issues being resolutely unsolved, I’ve been looking at these…

How are they? Can you manage them remotely or is it a push-buttons-on-the-front kind of deal?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

There is this https://github.com/cliffdude/SofarCtrl to interface with Home Assistant

I bought the parts at Christmas with a view to building it and playing with an ME3000SP as an aux battery charger
3.2kWp south facing solar array, MCS
Growatt SPH 3600 TL BL-UP 3.6kW hybrid inverter
Growatt SPH 5000 TL BL-UP 5kW hybrid inverter (in storage)

My first one was doing the "normal mode" with the CT clamp until I upgraded to the higher power SMA sunny Island. When the sofar first came out I reckon they were the best budget battery inverter on the market.

They are mostly a "push-buttons-on-the-front kind of deal", but some folk into software can control them in fancy ways in "Passive Mode", I keep thinking about whether to learn more about that. I think there is a whole forum or some other website with loads of info on them somewhere about.

But for now I just use them as a 3kW on or off dumb aux battery charger / discharger (in "timed mode" which is really a "test" mode without any CT clamps) which I control with a WiFi socket tripping a high power contactor on the AC side. When the AC goes off they just sit there forever with a grid failure error until I re-connect the grid, then they count down 60 secs, then continue what they were doing.

EDIT - SimonSays in the last post has linked the website I was thinking of. :praise:
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
