70p+ export

It's still August. Many of us I would assume now see our import cost below the export rate all day and night.

Its probably how much you get paid per kWh for your export on Octopus Agile Outgoing for each half hour periods. I think Swwils got his words mixed up on the initial post.

I think he meant to say,
It's still August. Many of us I would assume now see our export cost below the import rate all day and night.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated

What's the mean price per exported kWh over a whole year? Does it work out to be more or less than the old FiT export payments?

With the price of electricity shooting up the old FiT export payment is looking pretty low.

Are you guys telling me you can export at 70p and import at much less or not at all if you have PV and batts perhaps to catch the peaks.

I have difficulty with things that sound too good to be true where is the catch? Whats going on here.

I think it's much the same as the reporting of Agile negative pricing from a while ago, makes a great headline but is actually worth next to bugger all for the vast majority. As a way to generate publicity it's a master stroke, but I remain convinced that the net value is probably either very small, or even non-existent when compared with other tariffs. Really hard to compare now, unless everyone has their actual half-hourly consumption and generation, and the means to compare costs over a reasonable period of time.

or get a diesel generator running on chip fat !

Or import to batts for 1/4hr and export for 1/4hr .... perpetual money making Mc.

Or draw from next door on a cheap tariff to fill batts which you then export on your meter.

Or charge car at work etc for free and then export at home

OR ......

This is nonsense tariff.

There's a big(20MWh to 40MWh) grid tied Tesla battery not too far from us that exists purely to do this, in effect. It is charged when the prices are low each day and discharges when they are high. Very profitable, apparently. I believe they are looking at around a 3 year return on investment and are then pretty much into clear profit for the remainder of the battery pack's life. This is the installation: https://www.dorsetbiznews.co.uk/pivotal ... in-dorset/
