Octopus Flux

Import Export
Day rate 34p / kWh 22p / kWh
Flux rate (02:00-05:00) 20.4p / kWh 9.4p / kWh
Peak rate (16:00-19:00) 47.5p / kWh 36.5p / kWh
Standing Charge 45p / day
Very sneaky with that 16.1p differential.

Re: Octopus Flux
Prices just seem too high! (Just like Cosy).
3hrs of 20p AND a super expensive peak slot.
Compares with IO that gives you 6hrs of 10p and no super-expensive peak slot.

Exports.
They have capped it to 9.8kwp solar

Re: Octopus Flux
I'd stick with Go or IO by a mile, but maybe the end is nigh for us sooner or later.
But then even E7 is better.
There is one advantage for some and that is you don't need an MCS certificate (unless on FITs), so if you've self certified a DIY system with your DNO, thats OK with them.

Re: Octopus Flux
Has this been updated since yesterday as that doesn't seem to be the case anymore?
(rest of this FAQ irrelevant to the point in hand)
Another FAQ entry states they want to see G98/G99 too which is fair enough.
But as already stated, if you can get on IO thats much better. And just buying a second hand Ohme charger would qualify you for that, a route I'm seriously considering come September when my 12p GoFaster expires.
Re: Octopus Flux
Oh sorry totally missed your "unless on FiTs" doh, should learn to read.
Re: Octopus Flux
I don't know what Octopus have been smoking with some of these new tariffs! Cosy is a fantastic idea in principle: "split the 6hr cheap slot into two in exchange for a more expensive 3hr evening peak slot". Flux is a good idea in principle too "3hr cheap slot, 3hr peak slot, in exchange for decent export prices".Caesium wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 8:23 amHas this been updated since yesterday as that doesn't seem to be the case anymore?

However the prices are insane!
Intelligent gives you 6hrs (minimum) of 10p/kWh and 40p/kWh the rest of the time. The cheap slots for both Cosy and Flux are 20p/kWh THAT IS DOUBLE THE PRICE compared with Intelligent AND they come with the penalty of a mega-expensive peak slot.

Re: Octopus Flux
Confirmed on my Twitter question that they do require an MCS certificate. Crazy!
Also, no good I would think with a Tesla Powerwall as mine is set never to export
