That energy density is a huge leap forward.
But I have some questions.

What on earth is an "highly conductive biomimetic condensed state electrolyte"

And what's the timescale on this - makes no mention of when it'll actually be available commercially. Nor the cost...

….automotive grade version…..mass production this year.
Biomimetic process mimics biochemical process.
Price? Well it will be in huge demand which ensures a premium.

I watched a recent vid on the batts from Amprius, which suggest a 500Wh/kg energy density. The vid isn't negative, just a little skeptical, and suggesting they may not be available for a couple of years. But it points out that they have shipped prototypes to other companies for testing, and already(?) produce a 450Wh/kg version.

May be of interest?

What's the assumed energy density/kg of the current state of the art Tesla Lithium batteries, do we know?

For the 4680 cell it depends on the source but is likely below 250Wh/kg.

We had a thread about it or similar back here,
https://camelot-forum.co.uk/phpBB3/view ... =36&t=1990

I would not get too exited as I calculated it was circa 15 times the cost and it was not even new tech.
16.9kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 25MWh generated

Amprius is a US company based in California. CATL is a Chinese company. Similar performance targets and timescales but different chemistries.
