G99 for Solis RAI 3k AC Coupled

I've read the other solis AC threads on here, didn't want to hijack as they'd seemed to have come to a natural conclusion.

I have an existing Solar PV system as a leased system with Fit from 2015. I can't touch it. So an AC coupled system looks ideal.

I've purchased a Solis RAI 3k - and have some repurposed sonnen battery modules that I am setting up currently (another topic for another day).

I made enquiries with the DNO for my area which is National Grid (formerly WPD), and they initially came back saying G98 was OK, but quickly corrected themselves when they realised there was existing PV and said it would need to be G99 install.

Now I contacted Solis support, only to be told that they don't have a G99 or G100 certification, and we're rejected by ENA for submission on the portal because solo, the RAI 3k is under 16a....

Now obviously, in combo with a <3.68kW PV system there is the potential for up to 32a and therefore would inherently be G99....so what am I supposed to do?
Solis seem confused as they say they've sold/installed over 1200 units as G98. But surely the whole point of an AC coupled inverter is primarily to retrofit battery storage to existing PV....which is exactly what G99 covers.

Also, as my PV is leased and FIT linked, I have no interest in battery export as I cannot benefit financially from this. So my primary objective is self consumption, which is the default function of the solis. I also understand that there is limiting functionality in the RAI 3k which can respond suitably for G99.

I have found a version of a G99 declaration/ certification document that would be usef to submit to ENA for type approval (which according to solis was rejected) but on that form is does suggest that can be used as proof of compliance for single G99 installations. Solis themselves did not send me this however and seem to have no knowledge of its usefulness.

Likewise for a G100, I have found a Ginlong branded certificate online somewhere, which looks legit. But it is mot available from Solis directly when asking about this, so I am hesitant to submit.

The G100 compliance would allow me to go for G99 fast track application, given I don't need export, and speed things up a little.

Thanks in advance for any Knowledge or support on this.

Almost certain its OK, there have been several threads on this so do a search. Even though its a G99 (fast track) application the inverter is OK to be used if its been G98 type tested.

What is the full model number ?, as there do seem to be a few variants.

I emailed euservice@solisinverters.com and they supplied my G100 certificate for my Solis inverter

Hope that helps :D

I had an open ticket with service and they provided g98 and said they had nothing else.... useless.
They've closed the ticket now.

I do have a g100 that looks legit but could you send me yours? Might make my life much easier.

I never got a reply from solis service team when I was after assistance- I sent an email to the parent company to say that after sales was wanting in the UK ……..never heard from them either, can’t recommend them to anyone based on that despite their systems appearing to be ok in general. Compare that to Y&H another Chinese company from whom I bought a very cheap 600W grid tie inverter from a few years back and who have always been quick to reply as well as helpful and informative. I notice they are now offering hybrid inverters of various types and sizes and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company. After sales support is a cornerstone of a good product.
