Adding a Solax X1 SKSU 3000E 3kw Solar Hybrid Inverter

Hi all,

Looking at adding a Solax X1 SKSU 3000E 3kw Solar Hybrid Inverter Dual Storage MPPT to an existing system.

Does anyone know if this can be added to an existing Solar installation with FIT, to allow extra panels to be added and also battery storage.

Will the Solax X1 charge the batteries with excess power from the existing solar inverter as well as the new panels connected through the Solax X1?

Can the Solax X1 be used as an AC Charger for batteries, with no solar panels connected?
i.e. use it for battery storage for now and then add additional panels with the Dual Storage MPPT connections later?

Or will the Solax X1 only divert excess power from its solar panels to the connected batteries?

Hoping to use Pylontech batteries for the storage.

Many thanks
JC

This should be quite possible, I helped a friend commission a very similar setup yesterday.
The excess power that would be exported is captured by the new hybrid inverter , measured by the CT clamp.

Are you set on the Solax? It looks like the max current you can charge and discharge the battery is only 50A, so circa 2.5kW.
You might find a hybrid inverter that can get more out of the pylontechs.

Hi all,

Solax have now confirmed that the Solax X1 SKSU can be used for PV connection and Battery Storage and all excess power in the property can go in the connected batteries.

Solax have also provided a G83 test/compliance cert for the inverter.

Looking to gain DNO approval for the install of the Solax X1 SKSU in my home system to replace the SoFar battery charger, as this will allow additional non-FIT PV to the property.....

Anyone else added one of these recently with DNO approval?

Many thanks
JC

I have approval to add a Solax X1 alongside my 4kW FIT system with an export limit of 5.68kW but as things are going the approval (for 1 year) prior notification will expire before I get a competent electrician to install it plus I have a change of plan for a whole house system.
