OK, am I going mad, or has Tesla slashed the price of the Powerwall II?
I'm sure they were £7k or £8k before delivery, VAT and install, but now
the site is showing £5.1k.
Can't find any news about a price cut.

I did see a newsfeed the other day saying Model S & X prices being cut again.

Just curious. What is the storage capacity of the Powerwall?

I wonder if they are clearing stock in advance of the PWIII?
Of course that might come out before, or after FSD.

Is the "Gateway" what allows you to run in Island mode?

Yes it is. Certain circuits are wired into the gateway to keep them powered up during a power cut.

Yep, and of course you only need the one Gateway. Allows the PV to keep running too.
Years ago, possibly 4? I watched an episode of Tesla Time News with the father son team. They have 3 or 4 Powerwalls, and during the recording there was a flicker, nothing much, wouldn't have noticed it, but they both jumped, with something along the lines of 'what the hell was that?'
A tree outside had come down in the strong winds, and wiped out the leccy cables, but the Powerwalls had stepped in instantly. They'd heard the tree crash outside. They genuinely seemed shocked that it was a smooth changeover, I was dumbfounded by it.
Bobby (Fully Charged) had his installed and checked, and it took maybe 15s to switch over, but I think there was a reason for that, and it was quicker at a later date.
Downside of the Powerwall, for me, is there's no DC feed, for my ground mount idea. But chatting to an installer yesterday and mentioned how nobody wanted to expand my rear garden Solaredge system due to the long DC run down to the ground mount and back, and he couldn't understand the problem. I explained that it made no sense to me either, but 2 or 3 installers had said the same, so I'd given up. But that could be an option for me, and tied into the battery install, means it's VAT free (the battery install).
