Octoplus

I've just had an email invite to join. If they'd looked at my current usage it's obvious that I can't take part.
I've replied pointing out that I'm on an Off Peak tariff and all my use is overnight as I have invested in Solar and Batteries and have asked what rewards they are going to give those of us who've already invested to save the planet. I await a response!!

So you don't want any free power slots then ?

They have said there will be some free energy slots when the grid is greenest so you can charge your batteries for free, not just at cheap rate. I look forward to riding the Octopus Electric Eel, hee ya.

I also received an invite but when I use the link it says I need to change my Smart meter to give half hourly readings (which it already does) but I clicked it anyway. It also says I’m not paying by direct debit, which I have always done but I am currently on a payment holiday. I tried to alter my direct debit but it says I already have one set up!
Sent them an email saying same and am awaiting a reply.

Good to hear the scheme is working in general. It's a worthy way of utilising existing assets. I hope there is a broad uptake. 8-)

Looks like I'm already signed up. Have also joined the watsapp group to make it harder to miss the power-hours (or whatever they're calling them).
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Email from Octopus:
"We are working on a fix for this tech error, but for now - the Payment Holiday must have ended, and the direct debit schedule resumed before the customer can sign up to Octoplus. Would you like this to be reactivated on our end?"

Nowty, if you don't mind me asking, have you an active direct debit?
