Very much enjoying the outwith normal schedule slots in IO. A lot like last years saving sessions yet paying this time!
I enjoy the random nature of the slots
Today's is 10.00 to 11.00. Best quid I'll spend today.

Re: IO
IO really has been doing it for me with extra slots just when I need them!
New bill dropped today, I thought this was a decent effort:

Under 3% at the high rate? I wish i could be there!
I'll put mine up at month end, we can all have a laugh together.

Re: IO
According to Ofgem the typical house uses 2700kWh of electric in a year. I've used over half that in a single month. I wouldn't be surprised if you use more than that this month!

Re: IO
Isn't that an inevitable part of decarbonising? People cut their household gas use, but obviously the energy has to come from somewhere else, even if we do box clever with insulation, heat pumps, efficient air fryers etc...

Re: IO
Where is this typical house?
A quick Google brought this from Ofgem.
"We will be changing how we communicate typical bills from 1 Oct 2023, in line with our Decision on Typical Domestic Consumption Values. From 1 Oct price cap levels and typical bills will be expressed in 2023 TDCV of 2,700 kwh of electricity, 11,500 kWh of gas and 3,900 kWh of electricity for Economy 7"
I'm pretty sure it's bollocks. I managed to get down to 10,000kWh of gas after 3 years of lifestyle adjustment and property improvement before deciding to actively pursue Zero gas year round. It might not be bollocks if I lived 500 miles South West of my location and had a decent solar array but that's not uk typical is it? Somewhere in the Midlands, terraced red brick 1920's built with no solar maybe typical if such a thing even exists?
As to a typical year in a Month? Not far off!

Re: IO
It does assume your burning 12,000 kWh of gas and have no EVs.
18.7kW PV > 110MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 30MWh generated

Re: IO
Yeah, I think I'll end up at about 11,000kWh electric this year bought from grid plus the 7,000kWh+ PV generation. A tad under 18MWh electric to run the life. Not 'typical', then there's the 5 to 6 cubic mtrs wood we harvest and burn.
Back in the day we were over 31,000kWh gas and about 8,000 kWh electric too. That was before an EV so 12,000 miles at 30mpg is 400 gallon FF too.
Taking that to the next step would be about 24MWh of power to run our life in 2023 in comparison to 2016 when it was up around 55MWh pa. Thats allowing for average kWh conversions for softwoods and unleaded.
Jings, I've never actually worked that out and put a kWh cost against each of those....Nor given that much thought to the cleanliness of source materials as a comparison. I do what I can on the logs by self sourcing, processing via solar, drying, burning effectively in a well serviced WBS etc.
I'm still saying bollocks to Ofgem figures.

Re: IO
Anyone having issues getting a schedule on IO this morning.
App has been down since 8:30am for me although I’ve also had issue with the uf heating app as well

Got two 30 min morning slots at 08.10 hrs then couldn't see live feed or devices two minutes later. Must have caught lucky on timing.
