Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Not a Good start to the Year.
Its raining Sooo much that im not working outside.
Im Sitting in house watching Smart Meter display.
I put batteries on charge last night.
I spent £2.25 to charge the batteries last night.
Wind is only 5 mph. Thing not rotating. Panels getting very WET.
Paying for 9 watts at times because the inverters are a bit slow taking power out of the batteries.
Before I got the Smart Meter I never used to have daily problems. Only used to get upset once a month when the paper electric bill came through the letter box.
Can I tell them I want my old electric meter back because of the Stresss caused by the smart meter.
Or Dooo I just smash the inside house Smart meter display.

Re: Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Spend time making a wee cardboard cover for the IHD? Take your mind off it! We keep ours in garage, I don't use it.
We have about 200W coming in from the PV. Turnip is spinning and 2.5kWh.being generated at GF. WBS is on. Costing about £6 per day to run & heat home and transport.
All in all I'm feeling pretty good about the RE lifestyle in January.

I've long since stopped using mine since I realised that the display on it was a significant fraction of my base load!ALAN/ALAN D wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 10:45 amCan I tell them I want my old electric meter back because of the Stresss caused by the smart meter.

Re: Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Got wet yesterday. Mounted the 9th panel down by the turbine.
Now 53 in total.
Still need one more Fastensol Black Mid rail Clamp to finish the job.
Delivery cost from City Plumbing would be £5
Toooo save the £5 delivery cost. Just bought 2 more panels / rails / mounting bits.
My maths skills not to good.
Would it have Beeeen best to just pay the £5 delivery cost. ?
Ref. From Paul. "I've long since stopped using mine since I realised that the display on it was a significant fraction of my base load! "
Got it. I can use the new two panels to charge the battery in the smart meter in house display.
Got tooo remember to unplug the mains power supply for it.
And must remember to put P.V.C. electrical tape over the display bit.
Now got decide what colour tape to use.
Got Red. Yellow. Green. Blue. Black.

Re: Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Only about 50W coming in under heavy rainy skies. , but my share of the GF wind turbine is doing just under 4kW.
Next week the high pressure comes so more solar , but lighter winds so less on GF.
But with colder temps and lighter winds, there is an increased chance of a saving session.
Used to hate January but now every type of weather can be a winner.

The print quality it excellent (once I realised that the wrong nozzle was fitted).

Re: Not a GOOOD start to the year.
Yes. It astounds me how it can melt a 1.75mm diameter filament and then place it at 0.4mm dia. in 0.2mm layers so fast and precisely.

What a difference Half a Day makes.
Wind turbine not even turning this morning.
Now gusts of 60 miles an hour.
With luck might be there in the morning
