How did you get on with hot water over Christmas? Given you had family staying.

Didn't really notice it on the daily count, just ran it up for an hour once swmbo was finished so daughterly was good to go. Me n No1 went in the evening. These high capacity coils do heat the water quickly.

Putting this in for anyone who knows. 7kW does not mean 7kW apparently.

Thanks for the reply about the DHW.

IIRC you have the 7kW Aerotherm, I've not looked at the specs, but Heatpunk shows it as able to deliver 8740w of heat at a 35c flow temp, even at 55c flow temp it outputs 7359w of heat output. 35c and 55c are the min/max you can select on Heatpunk.

Thank you for that Ronski, I had honestly not drilled down deeply into the specs. Basically Fintray said it was alright so I went for it! The rest was in the hands of professionals, must be why it's performing so well!

Deep grey skies and plenty rain here today yet the HP is indifferent.

Recently passed the 1MWh of heat out of the unit.

This last photo is a reminder for me in the year to come. Allow for the benefits of export I've paid for just over 10Whs of power to run the home & EV.

Image

I am hoping that the 2025 run with export & HP multiplier working in tandem gets us down to 5MWhs of power paid for across the year. That's about £350. The Northern hydroturbine pays all of that if the figure comes to pass. So I guess Linconshire schools PV and the interest from the old Ripple investments can accrue until Edinburgh solar investment comes online.

All.the above started at 31,500kWh's of gas and 11,000kWhs of electricity pa consumption back in the day when the penny finally dropped.. Getting up towards a 90% reduction in power bought. I'm proud of that.

In the coming year we've got the triple glazing going in and a couple of internal walls to insulate. Once that's all done I've taken the building to my personal happy place.

Happy New year to you all. May 2025 bring you health & happiness along with good progress in your RE goals.

No point just showing the great stuff. Minus 5 is kicking my arse with a cop of 2.5. Happy enough tbh but thought I'd show it all. Will be on the phone Tuesday morning to see where we are with the 3g. Can't be helping that the hp system is specc'd for 0.6uw glazing system and it's still 15 year old 2g in place.

That plus a low charging hybrid inverter means we are chewing through the battery stack at a hellacious rate.

Tweaks so far are a 1500W ancillary charger on order which will help the stack hit a full charge overnight as well as tap into the EV pack through the day on the minus plenty days. Of which I hope we have relatively few across a year.

Also slow charging the stack through the day when needed so we're not leaving it flat for it's overnight charge.

Could go for a 5kW hybrid and another 30kWh stack space but want to see what bringing the ev into play can do first. At the very least it might ease the need for slots. Gotta love those slots! :ugeek:

I set the heatcurve to 0.6 in late afternoon. Has made a significant difference in room temperature. :D
