ASHP & triple glazing
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Good to see a full 24hr with no data alarm, looks like the new AAV and 5 Purge cycles have done the job.
Although now the app data for indoor temperature & humidity has stopped displaying which is a first!

Been out to see fueltheburn. A very pleasant hour that. I hope the electrical experiments go well.
The vermiculite is now in its final places in the loft. Spread out and pocket filled just as I hoped. That's 1,000 ltrs went into the house in the last month. The difference is wonderfully obvious.

Weathers picking up (wind & rain). A balmy 6degs and this is the last 24hr tale. Ground is still frozen up here. Heat curve is still set to 0.3, has been all day. Tried it at 0.25 for an hour or so midafternoon and it was OK but not maintaining at that level. Wbs was on at minimal burn.
I am very happy with the consistent 25kWh to run dhw & heating per 24hrs in low single figure temp days (with a little wbs help). I have no idea where this will end up later in the year but it's looking good.

Cheeky few pints equired in the future.
The littlun scrapped off the electrical project and went for a bottle rocket combo made from vinegar and baking soda
Enjoy the staves. I won't go back to logs after using these this year.

That all sounds great, particularly the bottle rocket! Thanks again.Fueltheburn wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:16 pm Cheeky few pints equired in the future.

A thing of beauty
Looking at the heat output compared to the input at less than 5C requires a second look

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
It looks great, I'll go in search of the purple flame soon. Tbh, it was too hot in the house so not needed. Next close to zero day though.. I haven't balanced the system yet. Waiting to see how it plays out once the 3g is in. I know for sure that I can throttle the two front lounge rads now that the wall is insulated. I'd like to hope we can get down to 0.25 heat curve and 20kWhs per day before Spring but that could be a wild underestimate.Fueltheburn wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:31 pm

As it stands now, the full cost to heat the home & dhw is £1.75. The last few days were decent Winter solar for us so generation was about 6kWh. That drops the cost to £1.33 per day... in January
We head towards Egypt Tuesday so with only No1 son looking after the place we'll see if it can stand on its own solar driven feet early in the year with no wbs.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
7 degrees here today. Just switched to 0.25 heat curve.
House is at 18.1 degs and this is the cop at 0.3 curve with no dhw influence.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Do you think you'll settle on a heat curve number that works for you?
The whole point of heat curves is that they're supposed to control how the HP reacts to outdoor temperature. If you're cranking it up when the weather is cold and down when is milder then it isn't doing its job...
