They trialed the frame up to the existing first without removing the glazing so that was good.Stinsy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 2:43 pmDid they notice the frames were wrong before or after they took the old ones out?Joeboy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 1:52 pm This is a sad part. Brand new, fancy tech, fancy seals & completely junk, only good to be chipped & relifed.
I've stopped the end of the job until we come back from Turkey on 25th April. I was OK with them installing the glazing units while we were away but this is now different with the wrong size frames. I'll be here to ensure all done and sealed in properly.
Beautiful new set of patio doors fitted too. A shame they open out rather than in which was discussed (twice). That is one big ass doorset and represents a fair chunk of the profit for the job?
So far we have had
Two trapezoidal glazing units broken in transit
Two trapezoidal frames wrongly built at factory
One French door set wrongly built on I suspect the wrong info.
The first two are on window supply Ltd and the doorset is on ksm.
Other than that it's going well. Side door is in and looks great, kitchen window is going in as I type. I've spoken to one of the owners about 'due diligence' and what it means. In particular to their profit margin.

This is an abject lesson in why you split payment. Small bit first for materials with majority held back until all happy with job.
