ASHP & triple glazing
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
You'd think so, but I suspect not.
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Positive & upbeat!!

I agree with you in both regards. Hoping it plays out, it is one less load on swmbo. I'd like that. The installers will keep me updated on any delivery progress. I can still see the scenario unfolding when something goes wrong on this dual trapezoidal fast track order and we revert to the original factory for a single trapezoidal to match the surviving unit.
I did give them that option....
Blinds were being delivered yesterday.... A tiny wee box with the remote control inside showed up flying solo. Blinds are still in the ether!
This glazing and associated swag is truly a PITA.

Not quite, I did post an update in the install thread, not all my issues were fully addressed, but it's done well enough that I will just sort the minor bits out myself, shouldn't have to, but it's just less hassle.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Turning away from the trapezoidal glazing fiasco to happier thoughts.
We are now well into the days of home solar gain although we still have condensation on the outer panes of the upgraded glazing units early morning. With the replacement of the front door we have removed the last leaky pathway to the outside world. The remaining 2g is decent enough for it's remainder time.
The amazing (to me) thing is that the HP is only burning 3.3kWh of power on a best day. I find this to be almost unfathomable.
The power to run a rapid boil kettle for just over an hour is instead heating our entire home and meeting our hot water needs. ASHP Heat Curve is now set at 0.1, as low as it will go. Even though I'm living it I find it hard to accept.

I had hoped to possibly dip in under 10MWh electricity for the whole year including EV (Zero gas) but it looks like I won't get a clean count this year as there is some stack export I can't split away from the total count as it's mixed in with solar export. I think I'll try for it next year and note down accurate figures to work from at year end?
Not bad though and will only improve as we continue the upgrades.
